Quakers
head office, Euston Road
This large and prestigious Grade II listed
building required special care to ensure cabling
was neat and unobtrusive. Small ergonomic
dome cameras were selected to ensure the character
of the building was not spoiled and that internal
cameras were as unobtrusive as possible. The
long interconnecting corridors required special
consideration for cabling, thus we chose NVT
digital transmission using CAT-5 cabling from
camera to recorder to ensure good signal quality
over the long distances.
The 16 camera system, including external PTZ
cameras, were linked to Verdant Technologies’
Digital Camera Station recorders housed in
a rack-mount cabinet. Up to four operators
have concurrent remote access to live cameras
and recorded images via VPN and local area
network.
Friends
House is grade II listed building
in a very vulnerable position. For
a long time we were plagued by over
drug abuse in our garden and suffered
a number of intruders. We relied on
a system of rather ugly black and
white low definition cameras without
any ability to search or print images.
In 2006 we replaced the old system
with Verdant Technologies CCTV, installed
by Cleanline Installations Ltd. The
cameras are much more suited to our
listed status and offer clear images
with and easy to use ability to locate
and print images of incidents. The
system is a significant deterrent
and has enormously improved staff
security. Cleanline Installations
carried out installation covering
our garden, bookshop, restaurant,
reception, stairwells and fire escape
doors very efficiently. The few queries
we have had concerning operation of
the system have been answered quickly
and clearly by Verdant Technologies

Brixham
Community College
Brixham Community College’s tape system
was badly in need of an upgrade and Verdant
Technologies were proud to be selected as
the provider of the new digital system. Downtime
was very much an issue in this busy school,
thus the challenge was to upgrade the 40 cameras
from tape to digital in less than one day
with minimal downtime, which we achieved.
Two rackmount 16 channel systems and a small
footprint 8 channel system were provided with
network transmission for remote viewing of
cameras and recorded images.
I
would be delighted to confirm our wholehearted
satisfaction with the service that you
have provided. We were initially amazed
at the ability range of the product
and the huge range of easily formatted
features available. The system has proved
ideal - as had been expected. The after
sales service has been excellent and
you continue to help with issues such
as adding night vision cameras. It is
straight forward to identify a known
incident and locate the section of "film"
required. It is simplicity itself to
print off the "evidence".
We look forward to an ongoing relationship

Will
Adams Centre, Gillingham
This lively centre had seen a number of incidents
of vandalism and so the introduction of CCTV
was a high priority for the school. Verdant
Technologies were awarded the contract for
supply of a six camera system recording onto
Verdant Technologies’ own digital recorder
including external pole mounted PTZ dome cameras.
This was later extended to 8 cameras to add
further coverage, in addition to the neighbouring
Woodlands Centre which purchased a three camera
system with recorder following good reports
from Will Adams. The system has proved it
worth both as a deterrent and means to provide
essential evidence for police and parents
alike.
We
feel that the system has paid for itself
through the reduction in vandalism,
and, of course, the safety of staff.
Once the students realised that the
cameras had been installed we saw an
immediate improvement in their behaviour.
Still pictures of some of the more outrageous
behaviour have been produced at parent/teacher
meetings, this has proved to be a very
useful tool.

Fordway Centre;
Spelthorne
This small primary school was one of Verdant
Technologies first special schools. The four
camera system, linked to Verdant Technologies’
digital recorder provided needed coverage
of the school perimeter and playground area.
The recorder is linked to the school’s
local area network to provide operators remote
access to live and recorded images to facilitate
monitoring of playground activities during
the day.
We
are more than happy with the system.
Very easy to use and access and a friendly
voice on the end of the phone if assistance
required.

Utopia Village
Services
The initial 8 channel rack-mounted digital
recorder supplied by Verdant Technologies
was upgraded to provide an always on VPN link
to the central security office. This enabled
security staff to monitor operations remotely
using standard broadband telephony and saved
precious time previously spent travelling
across busy London traffic to verify incidents
at the camera station.
We
have been dealing with Verdant Technologies
for several years and have purchased
several systems from them over this
period. We have always found them to
be reliable and helpful company and
are pleased with the support provided.
Our units installed by Verdant Technologies
Ltd at the Octagon Centre and Utopia
Village were upgraded at the beginning
of February 2005 to provide remote monitoring
via broadband communications link between
the two sites.
We have found this facility of great
assistance, enabling our security staff
to view both live and recorded video
round the clock. In general we have
found the communications link to be
very reliable and a significant benefit
in terms of speed of response to any
incidents.
